A Model for Knowledge Creation
Theories and Models
Instructional Design is a discipline that deals with formalizing models, methods, strategies and teaching procedures capable of optimizing knowledge creation processes. The instructional designer, on the other hand, is the professional which intervenes in the planning of training events to set up and manage educational systems borrowed from scientific theories and related modelling.
Investigating the world of Instructional Design one comes across various selections of the most accredited theories and models. Below, it comes provided a brief summary of one of the most exhaustive lists used by operators in the sector. For further information, please refer to the reference site.

A Training path for the Instructional Designer
There are many different facets that characterize the professional profile of the instructional designer in detailI am therefore training approaches. Among many, we recall that of the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction, 2013 (Koszalka, T., Russ-Eft, D., Reiser, R with Senior-Canela, F.Grabowski, B. & Wallington , C.J.,2013) and that of the eLearning Coach” by Connie Malamed.
It can be deduced that an instructional designer can have trained in many different ways. Here we illustrate a training course designed for those who work in the field of e-learning but which can also be extended to other contexts. This is a proposal that does not develop aspects related to technology and information technology but favors psycho-educational issues.
In this section the Design Methodology is presentedABC for the creation of distance courses and the modelICRUSAP which is at the basis of it. In particular, the following documents are provided:
- a preliminary introduction
- the ABC methodology In summary
- the ICRUSAP model in summary
- an extract from the Data Base
- products and prototypes created
- the reference bibliography
- the reference text (trailer)
Instruments
The synergistic action of scientific research and professional practice has contributed not only to developing the theories and models of Instructional Design but has also produced a cascade of a series of conceptual tools that we can define as "micro" because they intervene on specific aspects of the learning process. creation of knowledge to manipulate it on an educational-training level. Below are two examples of particularly interesting tools:
- a general taxonomy
- a series of micro teaching strategies
Process Technology: thoughts and artifacts for managing the creation processes of knowledge
1. Philosophy of Relative Control
2. Control towers and black boxes in the teaching process: fantasies?
3. Exercise Catalogue: a semi-finished product that illustrates various types of exercises
4. A scheme for managing communication on synchronous platforms
5. The Scenario as the logical pivot of a recursive format
